Mish Mash

So, let me see if I understand this…

In Afghanistan, people will demonstrate and burn our president’s image in effigy if they think a US soldier defaced the Koran, but will say nothing about a tyrannical government that routinely kills people, maims women, and applies Sharia law to shoplifting.  Maybe these people aren’t worth dying for.

Eight more US soldiers died in Afghanistan today.  The Democrats are praising President Obama for not making a decision on future troop deployments, and military masterminds like John Kerry are belittling Stanley McChristal for asking for more troops.  I wonder how the families of the soldiers deployed in Afghanistan feel about Obama’s indeciciveness.  Maybe they will be next on his “enemies” list.

The New Orleans Saints came back from a 21 point deficit to beat the Miami Dolphins this weekend.  I’ve seen Miami play some this season, and all I can say is, are you kidding me?  Miami’s ball control is usually pretty stifling.  I guess the Saints really are for real.  On a related note, cats are now sleeping with dogs and the world is at peace.

Obama.  Nobel Peace Prize.   I have no joke for this one.

H1N1 vaccine is in short supply.  Very short supply.  Did no one see this coming?  I heard back in the spring that the flu would be more vociferous in the fall, yet vaccine production did not ramp up.  Is this what we are to expect from Government healthcare?

Harry Reid (D-NV) says there will be a “public option” aka Government Healthcare, in the Senate version of the bill.  But don’t panic!  States will be allowed to opt out of the plan.  Then those states will be forced to pay for the care themselves.  Who can’t opt out?  You and I.  Individuals will not be allowed to decline the Government Healthcare option.  So much for freedom of choice, and so much for competition, regardless of what Obama and Pelosi say.

The sale of existing homes spiked in September, prompting the Obama administration to make another proclamation that the recession is over.  Of course, the recession is not over, and the spike is an artificial result of more government meddling in the financial system.  But, on a brighter note, the dollar is weaker than it has been since Carter, world markets are moving away from the dollar as international currency, and the Federal Reserve is printing more than ever.  Sounds like a combination for success to me.

A town in Massachusetts has volunteered to allow three Gitmo detainees to be released there.  These guys have been pronounced as not dangerous, but, hey, they were in Gitmo for jaywalking.  Good luck boys.  If Gitmo won’t turn you against the US, liberals in Massachusetts will.

A white woman is the front runner for the Mayor’s job in Atlanta.  The current mayor, Shirley “Hair Like Dennis Rodman” Franklin said in a speech that she wasn’t there to tell people whom to vote for.  Riiiiight.

Much has been made of Obama’s war with Fox News.  Damn them for reporting facts.
